Energy and Time Efficient up to the Nanometer Range
The requirements for grinding and dispersing of solid particles in suspensions are increasing steadly, especially when it comes down to the ultra fine nanometer range. With IBUvolt‘s new agitator bead mill machine based on UBM technology of WAB Group, we could offer a powerful and reliable solution for exactly this challenge.
Energy and Time Efficient Grinding Process
The mill has an active grinding chamber volume of 17.4 liters, the drive power of 37 kW enables precise control of the specific energy supply to the grinding process. Also the presence of an integrated cooling unit ensures that the temperature can be precisely controlled during operation which is a crucial factor for sensitive materials. On one hand, the mill can be used in re-circulation mode to achieve the desired particle size distribution. On the other hand, the single or multiple pass operation method allows a more constant treatment of the particles without remixing, which makes the grinding process more energetic and time efficient compared to the recirculating mode. Depending on the suspension to be ground, the mill can achieve a productivity of approximately 200-500 kg per hour.
Grinding of Suspensions down to the Nanometer Range
The mill is particularly interesting for applications where suspensions need to be very finely dispersed or ground down to the primary nanoparticle size, especially when dry grinding reaches its limits or dust generation must be avoided. We see great potential in the processing of cathode materials.
Expertise for Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) Grinding
At present, for grinding lithium iron phosphate (LFP) and lithium manganese iron phosphate (LMFP) precursors, particularly in the field of cathode material production. We have already built up extensive experience in this area. We support customers and partners in the production of the suspension as well as in the drying and thermal treatment in our spray dryers, rotary kilns and pulsation reactors. Read More
